A small story!

A small story.

Ricky and Antony, both graduated from the same college…

Ricky got a job paying $80000, Antony could not find anything.

Ricky got the chicks, Antony was celibate.

Ricky went to parties every day, Antony was wasting his 20s.

Ricky got promoted, Antony was a waiter.

Ricky invested in shares, Antony hardly earned enough to invest.

Ricky lost everything in shares, Antony found the love of his life.

Ricky was deserted by all the girls, Antony got married.

Ricky was broke, Antony built a house.

Ricky had no sex, Antony made love every day.

Ricky desperately wanted to get married, Antony was soon to be a father.

Ricky resorted to drugs, Antony resorted to his children.

Ricky lost everything, Antony found everything.

Everyone fails in life; not just at the same time or at same things.

Why do we fail?

Here is small story about Chinese bamboo, which was said by a well known cricketer Rahul Dravid in one of his speech.

Dravid said “My wife and I have built a new home with a lovely garden which houses lovely bamboo trees. I got reading on the Chinese bamboo and learned that the tree takes 5 years, 3 months to grow to its whole height of 80 feet. Yet, for the first 5 years, you can only see a tiny green shoot, but in the next 90 days, it grows into a full-fledged tree. But in those first 60 months, it is growing its strong network of roots underground, to support the tree. In an era of instant gratification, we settle for shorter trees, but remember patience has its reward. These are your years of growing that strong network of roots but be sure when you finally achieve your success, people will call it ‘overnight success’. If only they knew of the Chinese     bamboo!”

So whenever you fail.. Just remember you are not failing but building a strong network of roots to support your enormous success that is about to come your way.

Virtues and values learned from BATMAN

  • Everyone faces adversities in their life and it’s an inspiration for everyone to know that there are people who will take on life’s bullies no matter what. Batman stands for all of that.
  • Batman values what’s right more than he values the rules and sometimes that’s all that stands between good and evil. We alone can decide what is right and what is wrong.
  • Batman adapts. In the battle called life, those who adapt are those who survive.
  • Batman sees the good in people. That’s why he never kills. He believes in redemption. Even though there is a little evil in all of us, there’s also hope and that is worth fighting for.
  • Batman is human and he represents the flawed nature of man along with its capability for absolute perfection.
  • Batman always has a plan. He always keeps coming back. He always endures. After all that’s what life is all about, enduring it.
  • Not to fight, be wise, use brain, brain and brain then engage the enemy.

Quotes’s from Christopher Nolan’s BATMAN trilogy:

1) Training is nothing. The will to act is everything – It does not matter how well prepared you are. In the end what matters most is the will to act. With that will, fuelled by conscience, you can achieve anything

2) Anyone can be a hero. – You need superpowers to do good and instil fear in the hearts of bad guys. All you need is the will to act

3) Why do we fall Bruce? So that we can learn to pick ourselves up. – Kind of self explanatory

4) If you make yourself more than just a man, devote yourself to an ideal and if they can’t stop you, you become something else entirely. A Legend.

5) Sometime the truth isn’t good enough. Sometimes people deserve more. They deserve to have their faith rewarded. – This makes you think that you should resort to lying. No, you should tell the truth because the truth is going to come out sometime. And when it does, it can be much more disastrous (like the fact that Rachel didn’t love Bruce came out in TDKR and Alfred got fired and the whole Dent Act was a false premise gave more power to Bane)

6) Theatricality and Deception are powerful agents. – Use them wisely

7) When you go alone, wear a mask. It is not for you. It is for the ones you care about.

8) Some men cannot be bought, bullied or reasoned with. Some men just want to watch the world burn. – Treat these guys cautiously

9) Love can be a dangerous disadvantage. – For examples, take Rachel and Miranda

10) Never give up. I found this damn inspiring picture online:

BATMAN - Never Give Up

There are no unanswered prayers

A rare conversation between Ramkrishna Paramahansa & Swami Vivekanand

Swami Vivekanand:- I can’t find free time. Life has become hectic.
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you free.

Swami Vivekanand:-  Why has life become complicated now?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:-  Stop analyzing life.. It makes it complicated. Just live it.

Swami Vivekanand:-  Why are we then constantly unhappy?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Worrying has become your habit. That’s why you are not happy.

Swami Vivekanand:-  Why do good people always suffer?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don’t suffer.
With that experience their life becomes better, not bitter.

Swami Vivekanand:-  You mean to say such experience is useful?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Yes. In every term, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Swami Vivekanand:-  Because of so many problems, we don’t know where we are heading…
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides the way.

Swami Vivekanand:-  Does failure hurt more than moving in the right direction?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you.

Swami Vivekanand:-   In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Swami Vivekanand:-   What surprises you about people?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- When they suffer they ask, “why me?” When they prosper, they never ask “Why me?”

Swami Vivekanand:-  How can I get the best out of life?
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Swami Vivekanand:-  One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
Ramkrishna Paramahansa:- There are no unanswered prayers.  Keep the faith and drop the fear.  Life is a mystery to solve, not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.
